About SFARI Gene

Data

The data curated by SFARI Gene comprise the most comprehensive resource of genetic information for the autism research community.

Current estimates suggest that variation in as many as 1,000 different genes could affect susceptibility to autism. Given the scale of this emerging dataset, SFARI Gene answers the need for a trusted, comprehensive, and dynamic database that captures these risk genes from the published literature and tells autism researchers what we know about their functions in humans and experimental organisms, with extensive links to the primary literature and secondary databases.
